What:

Rootles^®- Quests for the Curious is designing another hunt - A Rootles Rally - for the CableLabs BNS group.

Where:

The hunt will be held in downtown Boulder. We'll meet at the Bandshell at Canyon and Broadway at 9:30AM. Teams are encouraged to meet at CableLabs and carpool to the Start/Pearl Street area. Parking is available nearby and some of the hours of the hunt may be validated by the resturant at lunch.

When:

Friday, August 7^th - The hunt will start at about 9:30 am, and take approximately three hours.

How:

While everyone will be provided with detailed instructions when we meet to start the hunt, the general idea will find each of the teams solving the same clues, throughout downtown area, and making their way through various "Stages" that may included challenges such as "Barriers", "Detentions", and "Delays". The clues and challenges will require group thinking and teamwork to solve and will lead teams to different locations all the while they will be gathering information necessary to solve an overall puzzle. Select team members may need to walk further than others, though nobody will need to walk more that 1-1.5 miles. For this reason comfortable shoes are strongly suggested.

Why:

Last year we said: "If you’ve ever participated in a treasure hunt, then you likely remember how much fun it is to puzzle out where you’ll find your next clue, while if you've never had the pleasure of going on a treasure hunt, then this is a perfect opportunity to experience an absolutely great way to explore your surroundings!"

This year we're saying: The same still applies, but we're stepping it up! Are you ready?

We ask that you bring your sense of adventure, an open mind, and your clearest thinking skills, as we’ll provide the rest. Pens and paper will be available, along with other materials needed to solve the clues. Feel free to peruse the rest of the site to see sample clues and other hunt descriptions.
