To be entered into the drawing of correct answers you should submit your answer to hds@colostate.edu or deliver it to Louie Sanchez in 203 Palmer Center by the close of business on Friday February 5th. The correct answer and solving strategy will be linked to this clue after that time.
Solution: This clue is similar to a clue from the 2008 hunt. As with that earlier clue the most important aspects to recognize are the dimensions of the grid (26 x 18). Unlike that earlier clue, this one does not provide a visual reference letters attached to certain of the colored blocks. Ultimately, solvers needed to recognize that each column represents a letter of the alphabet (the reason for there being 26 columns) and that each group of colored blocks represents a word. When unscrambled the three colors read Blue: Gymnasium, Orange: North, Blue: Door. That, coupled with the instruction to submit the highest four digit number on the corner led solvers to the cornerstone of the gym that was chiseled with the Masonic Date: "5925".
